Harmony - "The structure of a piece of music according to the composition, progression, and modulation of its chords".

Deciding to take advantage of the unique opportunity to use the same unofficial (with two different definitions) for two consecutive COLLINS FDCs, it was on to Harmony two weeks later for the Igor Stravinsky cover. The 2 stamps were picked up in New York City where a large block of twelve stamps was affixed to each cover. Due to the unusual format, no official cancel was applied but rather the cover was canceled two tines at Harmony with this great unofficial tying the block to cover. I couldn't resist using a big block of stamps for once just for a change of pace, and it really is different.

The hand-painted cachet shows Igor at the keyboard with a musical score as a back-drop - brightly highlighted in orange and yellow to contrast with the rather drab color of the stamps. It is an unusual FDC combining a large block of 12 stamps, a great unofficial cancel for this musical topical and a very brightly colored cachet all done in good taste. Item No. C601— $5.50
