Canada Geese by Rusty Fretner
Fred's Anecdotal Note
A snow storm has hit the upper forests of Michigan and a white blanket covers the ground. A lovely pair of wild minks pause at the mouth of a small stream where it flows into a larger river. The female searches for food at the water's edge as her mate watches in anticipation. Nearby, a solitary Canada Goose contemplates his up-coming trip south while a "V" of geese in the background have already begun the journey.
Note the soft seasonal watercolor pastels that contrast with the rich, dark fur of the minks in the hand-painted cachet. The cancel is from Lansing and only 140 of this beautiful MILFORD were produced.
