Lot 27 G3402 — Peanuts — Subscriber-only Limited Edition 

My regular Peanuts cover with Snoopy lying on his doghouse (G3401) was extremely popular with collectors — indicating that there is widespread interest in this issue. This is the very scarce Collins that was produced just for my subscribers. The heading strip from the pane of stamps showing Linus, Lucy, Charlie Brown, and Snoopy was affixed to the cover, and that colorful strip, along with the new stamp, is tied to the envelope with a first day postmark. That in itself makes it a sure winner. I've added a hand painted cachet showing the same group of characters in different poses.

Lot 31 G3402 — Peanuts Subscriber-only limited-edition cover plus free cover — 5/17/01

This cover, which features the Peanuts gang, was produced only for subscribers and has a very unusual feature that is a major philatelic attribute. The title strip from a sheet of the Peanuts stamps is placed along the top of the cover, and the strip and stamp are tied to the cover with a bullseye first day of issue cancellation. The cachet reflects a cartoon of a scene around a mailbox featuring the same characters. It's a very colorful and vibrant FDC featuring Snoopy and the gang. Also included in this lot is a free second Peanuts cover (G3401) which is still in stock that has a hand painted cachet showing Charlie Brown flying his kite as Snoopy leaps up and gives Lucy a big kiss. It is known as the Doghouse cachet.
