This attractive pair of new definitives follows the peach and pear stamps of a few years ago. Both of my individually hand painted cachets for this issue will be colorful additions to your Collins collection.

Florida Orange Groves

This hand painted cachet takes us back sixty-plus years to a Florida that was just beginning to experience its explosive growth in population and development. Much of the state was still rural, and many individual farmers had their own small groves of citrus trees. In this nostalgic scene, a grower and his daughter sell their oranges from the back of the family truck. Customers would mostly be neighbors from the surrounding area, but with increasing frequency, tourists and visitors from "up north" would buy at the numerous roadside stands. The watercolors capture this period in Florida history in realistic tones. The citrus tree grove in the background. The crated fruit in the family truck.
