Lot 29 X3702 — Christmas Wildlife — "Porcupine Error"

When the annual Christmas Wildlife cover was produced for the 2003 Christmas stamps, 20 of them had been painted when I discovered that my text on the envelope, in error, had the year printed as 2004. After considering how to proceed, I decided to correct my error by placing a label on the remaining covers with the correct 2003 date. Wanting to further identify the correct cover, I changed the watercolor scheme to include a gold/ochre border and more subtle differences like a brown tree in background instead of gray and a lighter more grayish porcupine. The rare error cover has a burnt orange border and MOST IMPORTANTLY, each of the 20 covers is numbered and signed by me under the postmark. This one is number nineteen and is numbered "19/20" The lot will include both porcupine covers, so they can be jointly displayed with the obvious differences.
