Otters have several endearing traits, and one of the most endearing is that mothers often give their pups a ride on their chest while floating. They cuddle with their young one or give them a loving hug or embrace. It pulls at one's heart strings.

In my individually hand painted cachet, the pup sleeps contentedly in its mother's arms. The mom has its forelegs wapped in an aftectionate hug, but the intent and focused face indicate that she is on the lookout for any potential danger. Numerous ice pieces float nearby heralding the long awaited spring thaw.
