STAR ROUTE TRUCK

(5.5-cent Transportation Series)

A brightly painted Star Route Truck winds up a rural, unpaved road with a barn, silos and plowed fields in the background. The angle at which the cachet was designed has the early 1900's truck coming right at you. An interesting hand-painted cachet which I think will be one of the better ones produced for this issue.

In addition to four of the 5.5 Star Route Truck stamps, I've also added one of the "Non Profit Organization" stamps of the same design. This stamp will not appear on very many covers, but this COLLINS has both of the varieties. All five stamps are canceled "First Day of Issue" from Fort Worth, Texas.

A brightly painted Star Route truck winds up a rural, unpaved road with a barn, silos and plowed fields in the background. The angle at which the cachet was designed has the early 1900s truck coming right at you. It's a very attractive and interesting hand painted cover in the Transportation Series. In addition to four of the 5.5-cent Star Route Truck stamps, I also added one of the "NonProfit Organization" stamps of the same design to the cover. All five stamps are canceled first day of issue from Fort Worth, Texas. For collectors who actively seek PNCs (plate number coils), this one is a beauty with a very unusual cancel placement! For everyone else, the cancel alone makes it worth adding it to a Collins collection
