CONSUMER EDUCATION
Whenever a consumer makes a purchase, there is a personal reaction if it is considered a good deal or, if in retrospect, it is considered a bad deal. Additionally, one of the definitions of deal is "to do business with or in; to trade". What a perfect unofficial cancel in meaning, and what a beautiful unofficial in appearance - strong, bold and clear with killer bars from Deal, N.J.
Not to be outdone by the excellent unofficial is a wonderful cachet. An old-fashioned hanging grocery scale is pictured loaded with realistically painted staples such as flour, milk and soup. Money in the form of dollars is also shown since it represents our medium of exchange. This is a very appropriate hand-painted cachet for this topic, and it really is a good looking consumer oriented FDC. Adding much are the two hand cancels from Washington, D.C. (official "First Day of Issue") and Deal, N.J. (unofficial). Let me again stress that the quality of the unofficial is among the best I've yet obtained.
