Stagecoach 1890s

Collins Cover Announcement

STAGECOACH 1890's

This finished cover really came out super, and I hope you will consider adding it to your collection. To do justice to this great  subject matter, the hand painted cachet stretches the entire length of the cover. Pictured is the stagecoach that is so symbolic with transportation in the old west. It is being pulled by a galloping team of six horses . By using the full -size of the cover, the cachet is really visually effective, and I believe you will be glad in the future if you acquire it now.

Above the cachet is a strip of five stamps (4c denomination) which is hand canceled "First Day of Issue" at official city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. An additional strip of five was affixed below the cachet, and these stamps are unofficially hand canceled at Westland, Michigan. Westland is a nice, related unofficial once again proving that COLLINS FDCs are "real" being serviced on the actual day of issue. With the two strips of five stamps each and the unusual full length cachet between them, this is indeed an interesting FDC in the Transportation Series.   Item No. T501 - $5.50

Winter 2021 Mail Sale Commentary

Lot 15 T501 — Stagecoach

My hand painted cachet shows a fmely detailed 1890's stagecoach and team of six horses which stretch the full width of this Collins cover. The visual format is quite unusual as above my cachet is a strip of five stamps with the Milwaukee first day cancel, and below my cachet is another strip of five stamps with first day postmarks from Westland, Michigan. The stamps are from the longrunning Transportation Series. A most interesting and eye-catching Collins cover.
