Summer 2024 Mail Sale Commentary 

Lot 5 V501 — Wolf Trap Farm — 9-1-82

This issue is dedicated to the performing arts, and I took the opportunity to produce an out-of-thebox Collins first day cover. An original pen and ink drawing featuring the traditional drama masks of comedy and tragedy was individually done on each cover, and then the drawing was hand painted on every cover. This cachet certainly fits the mold of "something different," and it represents the free spirit attitude of the arts. The lettering as well as the design is hand drawn, and as such, this is a 100% hand-done cachet. A single Wolf Trap Farm Park stamp is officially hand canceled "First Day of Issue" at Vienna, Virginia. For my unofficial, I chose Englishtown, New Jersey and an additional single is unofficially hand canceled there. This unofficial was-chosen to represent the greatest of English dramatists — William Shakespeare. This very unique cover has not appeared in any of my previous mail sales.
