The hand painted cachet shows deLeon's shin laying at anchor off shore. A landing boat is being rowed ashore and is mid-way between the shio and the beach. On shore, a party of four soldiers clad in their brightly colored uniforms including breastplates and helmets is making its way inland. The sea is at their backs. A frame border surrounds the scene depicting the exploits of this early explorer.
