GERMAN IMMIGRANTS

This very attractive hand painted cachet is done in the same style as my U.S./Sweden cover, and I think it is even better. It is a map outline and then in detail shows a German couple in folk costumes, a castle, a ship and a city backdrop with a bridge in foreground. Finally, there is the hand-painted German flag. Many colors are used but dominating are golds, rusts and reds, and I know that you will enjoy this cover very much.

A single is hand canceled First Day of Issue at the official city of Germantown, PA. An additional single has an excellent unofficial with the hand cancel being applied at Berlin, N.J. The killer bar cancel is very clear and bold.

This cover is one of my recent personal favorites, and I can strongly recommend it. Item M601 - $5.50
