The hand-painted cachet has a decided oriental flavor and pictured is a volume of The Good Earth, one of Buck's most reknown works.

This literary classic depicts life in China and the remainder of the cachet is dedicated to the Chinese theme with illustrations including a religious shrine, a peasant water carrier and a Chinese fishing boat. The soft colors were very carefully chosen and I think you will like it.

A block of four is canceled from the First Day city of Hillsboro, W.V. A last minute hitch prevented me from traveling to West Virginia. for an unofficial cancel. For newer COLLINS collectors it is very important to note that the occasional FDC I produce without an unofficial due to unforeseen circumstance, will still be considered a must for any COLLINS collection simply because it is one.
