Goldeneyes by Robert Hautman

Fred's Anecdotal Note

1991 MINNESOTA

A purple/blue sheen on its head is the main difference that distinguishes a barrow from a common goldeneye which has a greenish head. For a habitat, it likes clear, still lakes and that is where the one in my hand-painted cachet is floating amid a kaleidoscope of color. The water reflects a twilight sunset with swatches of golds and lavenders.

Once again, the magnificent "Flying V" philatelic postmark from Rochester provides the Day of Issue cancellation. Serial numbers used were 31 to 330 except for numbers 121 to 130 and 231 to 240.
