Tennessee 1992

 Wood Duck by Tom Hirata

Fred's Anecdotal Note

This thirteen-dollar face value stamp with a one-doIlar surcharge added is the costliest of the State Duck stamps. A pair of woodies is depicted on this year's stamp and, as always, Tennessee has provided very attractive artwork. The hand-painted cachet has captured the vivid and attractive plumage of the male woodduck with a highly detailed close-up rendition.

A First Day postmark was obtained from Duck River which adds a nice philatelic touch to this cover. Serial numbers used were 3000 to 3299 except for 3105.
