Shovelers, well named because of their distinctive bills, are  becoming a favorite species of mine. In this hand-painted cachet, a male swims directly toward the viewer while a wary female cruises closely behind.

A wonderful First Day of rssue philateric postmark was obtained from Little Rock. It contains Arklnsas. official slogan -- "The Natural State". It is bold and perfect for this MILFORD with the new high value $7.00 State Duck stamp with a pair of Shirey Bay shovelers. The number of covers made for this issue was 209.
