1994 SOUTH CAROLINA

The vivid watercolors chosen for this hand-painted MILFORD cachet give it a radiant appearance. Bright blue waves crested by small whitecaps provide a striking contrast to the red-hulIed sailboat and the sunset horizon. A female canvasback serenely rides the gentle swelIs. 

A well-meaning clerk affixed the postage stamp out of my presence and a slight over-lapping of the new duck stamp occurred. Since it was common to all covers, it will not detract from collectibility. A large and unusual circular magenta cancel from Columbia provides a First Day postmark. 140 covers were produced for this issue.
