Fred's Anecdotal Note
The pictorial cancel featuring a Barrow's Goldeneye, ties the fifteen dollar stamp to the cover. This cancel is from the "Duck Stamp Postal Station" in Washingtoq D.C.
A hand painted rendering of this appealing duck is the main subject of the cachet. The handsome male with his subtle iridescent head feathers, stands in front of several yellow water iris flowers. Soft pastels lend a peaceful look to water and sky.
Only 125 covers were produced for this limited edition. Some inserts were inadvertently sent that stated 149 were made, but 125 is the correct number.
