Wood Ducks by Gerald W. Putt
Fred's Anecdotal Note
A pair of wood ducks stand on a half-submerged log in this hand painted cachet. They are defiant in establishing their territory, and any intruder will be greeted by glares. A very nice postmark from the Delaware Water Gap ties the new $5.50 stamp to envelope. The "Gap" is a national recreation area, and many wildlife waterfowl frequent Delaware River in this scenic location.
This trip was very special to me personally because it was the first time that young grandson Scott accompanied me on a cover adventure. We had a great time. Only 149 of these Mlfords were produced.
