Lot 8 C401 — Electric Auto 1917 (from the Transportation series)

This is a superb first day cover with a pair of the stamps canceled at Greenfield Village, MI and an additional pair with a super pictorial first day postmark from Detroit showing an antique car. On book page 266, you can view how the cachet, stamps, and superb antique car pictorial cancelation all combine to make this one of the fmest automobile first day covers ever produced. It's a great "early" Collins cover.

Lot 4 C401 — Electric Auto 1917— 6/25/81

This superb cover sold out immediately and is rarely seen for sale. It's an early issue in the very popular Transportation Series. A pair has the official first day of issue postmark, and an additional pair has a fabulous antique car pictorial cancel from Detroit — the world's motor capital. My hand painted cachet shows a 1913 Detroit electric Broughan automobile. For anyone seeking to put together a 'complete run of my Transportation Series covers, here is one of the finest in excellent condition.
