The main theme of the International Year of Disabled Persons is that handicapped people should be, as much as possible, less dependent within the scope of each individual's own capabilities. Accordingly, I chose Independence as the unofficial First Day cancel. Each cover also has the official "First Day of Issue" hand cancel from Milford, Michigan.
