M301
M301 / Regan Inaugural
Ronald Wilson Reagan
40th President of the United States
Collins Cover Announcement
INAUGURATION - RONALD REAGAN
I had many requests to do an Inauguration cover, and although my plans did not call for one, in the end I decided to do it. This is the first "non-First Day" COLLINS cover. It is hand canceled in Washington, D.C. and, of course, no second cancel.
This cover was produced in limited numbers, and I predict it will be sold out in 6 to 0 weeks - maybe sooner - so if you do want it for your collection, please do not delay.
The stamps used on the cover are:
4c "Old Glory" - 1094
5c "Register-vote" - 1249
6c "Register-Vote" - 1344
The hand painted cachet shows a profile of President Reagan, and he is flanked by two flags. Below is an eagle, symbol of the United States. It is a very attractive cover and should be in great demand in the future.

Lot 7 M301 — Ronald Reagan Inaugural — 1981
This is an historic piece for any Collins collection because it was my first Inaugural/Event cover. For postage I used the 4-cent "Long May It Wave" flag stamp, the 5-cent "Register and Vote" flag stamp, and the 6-cent eagle weather vane "Register and Vote" stamp — all of which are tied to the envelope with the Inauguration Day slogan postmark. The hand painted cachet shows a great portrait of President Reagan flanked by two flags and over an eagle and shield. It is illustrated on book page 207. This cover has wonderful color coordination, it is my first inaugural, and it is one of the finest patriotic pieces I've ever produced. It's a key acquisition for any Collins collection and is rarely seen in the marketplace.
