SWITZERLAND

Young love surveys a Swiss vista as a brightly costumed couple sits in a grassy alpine meadow with the mighty Alps towering above them. The bright green carpet of grass contrasts with the crisp red, yellow, white and black colors of the couple's clothes. The word Switzerland appears in Old World typestyle and the letters are all hand painted in alternating red and gold. A typical Swiss chalet appears in a lower meadow and, beyond, the snow-capped peaks rise majestically amid clouds glowing pink from the late afternoon sun.

After obtaining the stamps, which were a joint issue with Switzerland, it was a quick flight back to New Jersey. Then, the covers were taken to Alpine, New Jersey for a fine, related unofficial (real) First Day postmark.
