A trio of trophy lake trout cruise the deep water in this hand-painted COLLINS cachet. One has spotted a minnow and is making a sharp turn in pursuit. The markings of the fish are very realistic and I'm extremely happy with the final appearance of this FDC. It certainly qualifies as a fine wildlife cover.

The First Day postmark is superb. After doing our work in the official city of Cuddebackville, I had headed north to Fly Creek. Hank, meantime, had headed west and this cover was his responsibility. The result was this excellent "related" cancel from Trout Run, Pennsylvania. The combination of postmark and hand-painted cachet make this cover a triple winner as symbolized by the three lifelike lunker lakers. It stands on its own as an outstanding FDC, it contributes greatly to this Fishing Fly set of six that I produced, and it further enhances the general reputation of COLLINS First Day Covers. This one's a beauty and I'll tell you straight up don't let it be "the big one that got away". Item #Y1804. $9.50.
