HOT AIR BALOON

A very nice show cancel from the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Exposition (ROMPEX) ties a pair of the new balloon stamps to this COLLINS Cover. The stamps are quite colorful and to complement them, I've added a hand-painted cachet that features eight more multi-colored balloons soaring high in the sky. Awed passengers peer from the suspended baskets. Burners thrust blasts of hot air into the huge balloons keeping them aloft.

This sport and leisure activity is becoming ever more popular. With its bright cachet and distinctive ROMPEX postmark (you had to be there to get it) celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Pike's Peak Railroad, this COLLINS will be a good addition to any collection. Item #S1801. $10.25.
