Track and Field - Discus

This is the second COLLINS First Day Cover for the very colorful stamp issue of five paying tribute to Olympic track and field events. Last time, the "hurdler" with bright red background was offered (Item 11905 still available at $8.25) and this time the stamp and hand-painted cachet depict the "discus thrower". The featured color this time is an intense yellow.

One of the challenges in producing covers is to provide a variety of designs and painting techniques in regard to cachets. This group of Olympic FDCs will be among the most radiant in terms of color that I've ever done.

A bullseye Los Angeles postmark is used for this discus stamp. Item #I1902. $8.25.
