"F" STAMP

Along with the rate change came the new letter stamp. This time it was "F" which the Postal Service was quick to designate the Flower Stamp.

I chose to follow this theme and my hand-painted cachet features five brightly colored tulips. The blooms are very large and very cheerful. In the background, a windmill testifies to the Holland heritage which the tulip enjoys. The type style is most unusual with a "vine-like" twirl and really provides an unusual look to this flower design.

A single of the new stamp is positioned at the upper center of the cover and is postmarked by a Washington, D.C. bullseye.
