This item begins my next series of Olympic First Day Covers. I am most happy to offer this item as it features a new background technique that adds a very colorful flair. These are the bright stamps in red, green, yellow, blue, and black. My backgrounds seize on the opportunity to complement the large, colorful stamps and result in some nifty FDCs.

This first features the hurdling event. The athlete has cleared the barrier and his gaze is set on the next hurdle. The action, portrayed in realistic color shades, is thrust into almost 3-D perspective due to the brash background painting. Very different.

The stamp is tied to the cover with a Los Angeles Day of Issue bullseye cancel. A nice Sports/Olympic topical. Item #I1905. $8.25.
