You would have to search a long time for a better example of an "entire" First Day Cover. This one is a beauty.

Four great presidents sculptured into a mountainside in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Inspiring. I opted for a very bold hand-painted cachet. A "frame" extends to the four edges of the envelope. Within this hand-painted border, the images of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln are majestic under a bright blue sky. I wanted to make the monument as large as possible and I think this cachet captures it all. Within a small box within the cachet, the stamp with First Day bullseye is positioned. The red, white, and blue of Old Glory in the stamp brings just the right dash of contrast to the painted cachet.

Lot 15  J1801 — Flag Over Mt. Rushmore (3-29-91)

This is one of the more interesting Collins First Day Covers. The hand-painted cachet is an excellent rendition of the huge stone presidential carvings in South Dakota. Shown with outstanding detail are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The inspiring scene is surrounded by a blue border around the edge of the entire envelope. The envelope is hand painted in watercolors and certainly is a fine work of philatelic art. The Mount Rushmore/American Flag stamp has the bullseye day of issue postmark from Mount Rushmore.
