This is the third of my Famous Comedian First Day Covers to be offered and, like the other two, it has the football theme. As with the Jack Benny and Laurel & Hardy covers, it features the outstanding Disneyland First Day cancel showing Mickey Mouse kicking the football at the Pigskin Classic. This pictorial postmark happened to be available on Issue Date and I considered it a "natural" for comedian FDCs. As it looks now, unbelievably, I was the only one to travel to Anaheim to obtain it, so COLLINS collectors once again have an exclusive, unique, and real First Day postmark.

Many collectors will be familiar with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. They were a very funny twosome with Bud playing the straight-man to the verbal antics of Lou. In perhaps their most famous routine, they are discussing the players on a baseball team. It's known as "Who's on First". In this hilarious routine, various players are named Who, Where, What, etc. For my football theme cachet, I've changed the routine to "Who's the Quarterback". I guess that's called artistic license, but it sure does make this COLLINS FDC an important part of this very appealing Famous Comedian set. The setting for this cachet is a jam-packed Rose Bowl Stadium and one that any sports enthusiast will love.
