BICENTENNIAL OF THE 

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Autumn has descended on our Capitol in this COLLINS hand-painted cachet. Yellows, golds, and oranges provide a kaleidoscope effect as the fall foliage surrounds the White House which I chose as my central theme. In the background, the Washington and Jefferson Monuments can be seen.

The new stamp has a Washington, D.C. postmark. Bright colors in the stamp contributed to my deciding to use the vivid colors of autumn in my cachet design. A nice FDC in our continuing Bicentennial era which began in the 1970's. Item #P1901. $10.25.
