Collins Cover Announcement

Canoe

Two Indian warriors paddle a bark canoe across a serene woodland lake. This hand-painted cachet is an excellent example of watercolor art as the green foliage along the shoreline casts reflections upon the water's surface. The intermingling of blues and greens brings a fresh, natural portrayal of the scene. In the foreground, a great blue heron has been interrupted from fishing and spreads his large wings and flies past the canoe. Secaucus is on the Hudson River which is the gateway to the Hudson and Mohawk River Valleys. To the immediate west of Secaucus are the woodlands of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Throughout this tri-state area, tribes such as the Huron, Lenni Lenape, Mohawk, and Iroquois paddled the secluded waterways in their canoes. A nice cover. Item #V1801. $8.50.
