The fifth and final item of my five-cover Wild Animal set features a really neat cancellation for a penguin stamp --Tuxedo, North Carolina. Every time I see penguins shuffling in their black and white formal attire, I always equate them to wearing tuxedos. At any rate, it really seems to be appropriate. The hand-painted cachet is a study of contrasts. The black and white birds have a blaze of bright orange on their throats and necks plus matching beaks. The white/blue snow and ice of Antarctica is contrasted by pink clouds and sky plus the reflection of same on the cold surface. Item #W2003. $10.75
