Clinton Inaugural

President Clinton's Inauguration

Collins Cover Announcement

PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON

Inaugural Cover

Once again it is time for my COLLINS Inaugural cover. It is something of an event because one is only offered every four years. A solemn portrait of President Clinton is the main feature of the hand-painted cachet. In the background, a slice of Washington, D.C. is pictured with the Washington Monument being prominently placed. My portrait really captures the likeness of the new president. Another part of the cachet is the representation of Clinton's home town--Hope, Arkansas. I chose the local railroad station with a departing train as a symbolic depiction of a local country boy leaving home and eventually winning election to the most powerful office in the world.

The special Inauguration Day postmark is a pictorial with the Capitol dome and stars. The cancel is from Hope, Arkansas on Inauguration Day. Again, perhaps the most significant factor is that there is only one COLLINS Presidential Inaugural cover every four years so there will always be relatively few of them. A solid collectible. Item #D2101. $12.00.
