Collins Cover Announcement
VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE
Inaugural Cover
Only once every four years do I have the opportunity to do Inauguration Day Covers for the President and Vice President. I am now ready to offer my Al Gore cover with Bill Clinton to be announced soon.
My hand-painted cachet spans the entire cover. To the left, a large portrait of Gore is presented in front of an American flag. To the right, and under the stamp and special postmark, is the Washington, D.C. mall area looking out from the United States Capitol Building. The Washington Monument is a prominent landmark, and in the distance the Lincoln Memorial is visible. Crowds have amassed in the area to mark the beginning of a new administration.
The postmark is a nice one. It is from Carthage, Tennessee, Gore's hometown. It featurs the Capitol dome and a double row of stars. The text says 'Inauguration Day" and it ties an American flag stamp to the cover which reinforces the red, white, and blue color theme.
Since Inaugural Covers are only produced by me once every four years, T do h lve that they make a nice addition to a col
lection. President Clinton will be announced soon. For now, It's Mr. Vice President Al Gore. Item #E2101. $12.00.
