Collins Cover Announcement

OKLAHOMA

Sheet Stamp

This is a separate stamp from the booklet-pane Oklahoma stamp FDC previously offered by me and is easily identified by having perfs on all four sides. The First Day of Issue date is different as is the First Day site--Oklahoma City as opposed to New York City. And, of course, my hand-painted cachet is entirely different so you can be sure that it is a unique and distinct COLLINS Cover.

I must say that I am very happy with this cachet design and am sure that you will find it most charming. The "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" is now in the barn and farm animals gather around it. A chicken pecks at the straw by one of the wagon wheels as a mother duck herds her brood of downy babies past the open barn door. A pink pig watches them parade by. At the opposite door, a black cat peeks around the corner to see what is going on. Additional chickens perch on the surrey and two horses survey the barnyard happenings from their nearby stalls. A horseshoe nailed above the barn door is a symbol of good luck for the newly-weds as their "Just Married" sign can still be seen tacked to the side of the carriage.

This is a cute First day Cover and I am pleased to offer it at this time. Oklahoma! Item #K2101. $10.75.
