World War II
Allies Battle German U-Boats
Collins Cover Announcement
WORLD WAR II SET
"Turning the Tide"
Dear Collector,
Enclosed you will find a payment schedule for your 1993 World War II Covers. The first payment is due March 15th and then one payment by the fifteenth of each month until the end of the year.
You keep the enclosed schedule and carefully check off each payment when you send it.
The remaining four 1992 World War II Covers will all be coming in the next "set shipment" rotation which I'll be starting soon.
A few collectors still get a little confused when I send the schedule, so let me explain the last ten World War II payments were for the 1992 covers and the ten payments that will begin on March 15, 1994 are for the 1993's. This year's group will include some excellent action topics such as Allied Forces battling German U-boats; B-24's on bombing runs; the Allies invading Sicily and Italy; and Marines assaulting Tarawa, among others.
I am very pleased with the COLLINS World War II set to date and at project's end, my fifty-cover set will capture the historic scope of this great confrontation that spanned the globe. Already I am planning the cachets for the "94's" to be issued later this year.
In conclusion, I'm looking forward to another year of this on-going set, and I'm glad that you are getting the covers. They certainly will always be sought after by future COLLINS collectors as well as military topical specialists. The exclusive First Day postmark that I obtained for the 1993 World War II covers is Arlington, Virginia. Many of the honored veterans rest there in the National Cemetery and coincidentally, the artist who designed the stamps is from Arlington. Since COLLINS was the only cachetmaker to obtain this fine related First Day postmark on offered sets, the philatelic significance will certainly always be there in addition to the distinctive and bold cachets.
As in the past, I really appreciate timely payments, and please identify it clearly when you remit on your World War II set. It really helps when I don't have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to apply a lump sum not broken down for me.
You'll be getting those last four "92's" soon, and, before you know it, you'll be receiving the "1993's". Thanks.
