CHRISTMAS STOCKING

A very cute Christmas Eve theme serves as the story line for this COLLINS Cover. Deep in the forest, a small log cabin provides a snug haven against the harsh winter elements. The cheery but modest home is situated at the far end of a wind-swept meadow at the edge of a snow-covered tree line. In the foreground, a pair of field mice have found and are taking advantage of a double treasure of holiday treats.

First, they have discovered some tasty acorns on the frosty ground, uncovered from their snowy blanket by the chilly gusts of December wind. The acorns provide an unexpected Christmas feast. But the sweeping wind has uncovered yet another present for the two mice. A discarded red and green sock with a large hole provides a source of warmth against the winter night and one of the mice has cuddled into a cozy hole as he nibbles his acorn. A true Christmas stocking!

Finally, to put the final touch on this hand-painted COLLINS cachet, high in the sky above the isolated cabin with lighted windows and snow-covered roof the spirit of Christmas is silhouetted. High in the heavens above the contented field mice and their Christmas stocking, Santa Claus in his reindeer-drawn sleigh speeds onward to deliver his holiday magic.
