Collins Cover Announcement
1994 WORLD WAR II
Set of Ten 50th Anniversary Issue
If you are a cover collector who truly enjoys "related" First Day of Issue postmarks, you will really appreciate this World War II set. One of the stamps was for the D-Day Normandy Invasion 50th Anniversary. What better First Day cancellation than the small Atlantic coast town of Normandy Beach, NJ. I think it is just perfect for this set of covers. This is not a COLLINS exclusive as a couple of other collectors had the same idea, but FDCs bearing this terrific "Normandy Beach" postmark will be a minute fraction of all those produced for this popular topic and you will almost never see them because so few exist. I'm very happy that they are available to you on this COLLINS set.
Among the hand-painted cachets in this offering will be Battle of the Bulge; P-51's escorting B-17's; Airborne Paratroopers in Action; Freeing of Rome; U.S. Submarines in the Pacific; and, of course, the D-Day Invasion at Normandy plus four others. Because World War II dominated the globe so intensely, I wanted to make a bold statement on my COLLINS Covers. To make them stand out in the hobby, on each and every one I chose the largest and boldest typestyle of any cachetmaker and the "WWII" of COLLINS will jump out of all future reference or auction catalogs within the hobby. The hand-painted cachets, the great First Day postmarks, and the large and distinct WWII lettering will set my covers apart from all of the others.
This will be the one and only offering announcement for this ten-cover set, and I will begin shipping soon. Upon receipt of your order I will immediately send you a confirmation and payment schedule. Thanks.
