Collins Cover Announcement 

ANGEL LOVE STAMP - 55 CENTS

One of the nicest Love cachets that I've offered over the years, this COLLINS FDC features two heavenly cherubs. They are angelic in every way from their very youthful and pure features to the delicate wings that propel them. A floral arrangement and colorful ribbon add a pleasing dimension to the scene, and I am proud to announce it.

This cover has the 55-cent stamp and the design is one of the two angels that appeared at the bottom of Raphael's Renaissance masterpiece painting - the Sistine Madonna. He was an Italian artist born on April 6, 1483. The First Day postmark on this cover is from Lakeville, Pennsylvania. It is an entirely different cachet from the Love cover announced earlier (W2301 - two 32-cent angel stamps) canceled in Valentines, Virginia.
