Without a doubt -- one of the finest cachets I've ever offered. In fact, the time required to paint this cover is so extensive that I found it necessary to slightly increase the price over the usual amount. But...this cover, I guarantee you, will pay dividends in enjoyment and future appreciation.

Children of the World, all in native costume, hold hands and circle a large globe. The painting is meticulous and the colors are realistic and vivid. The Scottish boy in his plaid kilt and high socks. The Dutch girl in a long blue dress with white apron and bonnet. The Italian lad from Venice. An African youth in a flowing tunic and a Peruvian girl in traditionally bright colors. A Chinese boy with pointed straw hat and a cute little cowgirl from the U.S.A. The composition, execution and hand painting is tremendous and, as a personal opinion, this may be as close to the perfect cachet as I've ever offered. That's a judgment you must make for yourself.

The stamp was issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the U.N. Charter. It features the emblem of the organization set against a background of light blue -- the official color of the U.N. The First Day postmark is from San Francisco where the Charter was signed half a century ago.
