BREAST CANCER AWARENESS 

The design concept for this handpainted cachet is to show three active women from the same family spanning three generations. In the upper left, the grandmother enjoys a game of racquetball. At the center, the mother works in her garden. To the lower right, the teenage daughter works on a homework assignment in her room. Entwined throughout the entire cachet is a pink ribbon—symbol of the breast cancer awareness movement.

This disease strikes one out of every eight American women. If detected and treated early, the chances of survival are very high. Thus, my cachet emphasizes that at all stages of a woman's life, proper medical screening and examination, coupled with individual awareness, could result in a long and active life until the "national race for the cure" is won.
