Hoagy Carmichael

Hoagland Howard Carmichael was a self-taught pianist and singer who was known professionally by his nickname Hoagy. He leaped from obscurity to fame when his "Star Dust" was released in 1930. Other big hits included "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening"; "Lazy River"; and "Skylark". My handpainted cachet for Carmichael is based on his classic song "Georgia on My Mind".
