Bill Clinton and Al Gore

Since I began my cachets in 1978, this is only the fifth time that I have produced and offered Presidential Inauguration covers - twice for Ronald Reagan, once for George Bush, and now twice for Bill Clinton. Whatever your political preference, these covers will be an excellent addition to your Collins collection. Political topicals are always in demand, plus some collectors just specialize in Inaugurals.

My presidential cover shows Bill and Hillary in an Arkansas setting. The vice presidential cachet portrays Al and Tipper in front of a Tennessee panorama. The hand painting is especially effective for these cachets as it combines portrait work with scenic watercolors. The blend is a nice mix. The special pictorial and slogan postmarks from the respective states also add a nice touch.

Inaugurals are always a nice change of pace for a cover collection. * They evoke interest and comments either pro or con. * They are uncommon because they come about only once every four years. * They are only the fifth such covers I've made in almost twenty years. * They are a nice historical record of the First Couple and the Vice Presidential couple. * Because of their special event status (as opposed to First Day of Issue status) and the very limited opportunity to produce them (once every four years), they will be excellent Collins Covers to own.
