Pacific 97

Clipper Ship & Stagecoach

Collins Cover Announcement

Pacific 97 Triangles

The Very First Triangular Stamps

Issued By the United States

This will be a brief narrative because only two things should be necessary for you to conclude that these three covers should be an important part of your First Day Cover collection.

• The historic implication is immense since these are the first triangles in our history. They will undoubtedly become among the most collected on cover of all United States postage stamps. Having the COLLINS Cachets will be a "MUST'.

• Taking a look at the black and white photos of my cachets should be the second com pelling reason for obtaining these philatelic gems. They exceeded my expectations, and I believe they are destined to be proclaimed "The best of Issue by Any Cachetmaker."

It was an age of adventure as the settlement of the West exploded. The rugged and durable Con cord stagecoach transported passengers westward and was used extensively for local travel. The sleek and fast clipper ships sailed from ports on the Eastern Seaboard around South America to cities on the West Coast - most notably San Francisco. Both stagecoach and clipper ship carried the US mail.

I expect this offering announcement to result in a fairly fast "sell out." Once that happens, I'm sure you will see these COLLINS Covers appreciate in value. You might want to consider obtaining an extra set. The hand-painted cachets in magnificent watercolors bring these covers to vibrant life. I2701 features the stagecoach way station and the clipper ship wharf with both stajmps at $12.25. I2702 shows a high- masted clipper ship under full sail, and I2703 depicts a crowded stagecoach on a local California route at $11.75 each.

It's a hobby "happening' not to be missed. The first ever United States triangles on handpainted COLLINS First Day Covers.
