Lot 26 12801 - $3.00 Mars Pathfinder (largest U.S. stamp ever!) — 12/10/97

This ultra-big, high-value stamp pictures the Mars Rover Sojourner which was the small robotic vehicle that traveled on the Martian surface. It landed on July 4, 1997. My hand painted cachet shows this historic event as Sojourner rolls over the rocky red soil. It's a wonderful Collins to have in your collection as it was the final cover of my first twenty years as documented in the book on page 253. A great space item!
