Tropical Birds
Crested Honeycreeper
Collins Cover Announcement
Tropical Birds
The Crested Honeycreeper
It is with much pleasure that I announce my first cachet in the eagerly awaited Tropical Birds set of four. The colorful subjects on three of these four stamps are found in areas that have strong ties to the United States. The fourth is found in Hawaii, and it is that one with which I will begin this mini-set.
The Crested Honeycreeper is a tropical bird with beautiful plumage, and my handpainted cachet is stunning. When the "Flowering Trees" stamps were recently issued, I added birds to my cachets. They were so well received by my Collins collectors that this time I decided to add tropical flowers. For this cover, you will discover the beautiful blooms of the ohi'a lehua flower. Amidst the colorful blossoms stands the regal crested honeycreeper. In all the world, it is only found in the upper rain forests on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. It will be a lovely addition to your cover collection.
Soon I'll be offering the other three in the set. The green-throated cabib, the Antillean euphonia, and the cardinal honeyeater. As you can imagine, individually watercolored cachets that combine the colors of tropical birds and tropical flowers, are an artist's dream come true. Enjoy a glimpse of island paradise with this first Collins FDC of the Tropical Bird stamps - the crested honeycreeper in the Maui rain forest. Item #F2903 - $12.25.
