Two young kits are very attentive to their mother as she teaches them the ways of the wild. The lovely vixen, radiant in her coat of auburn fur, stays vigilant as to the happenings in her habitat. Every so often, a cachet comes along that far exceeds my expectations or hopes. This is such a time!
The one-dollar "high value" stamp and the truly marvelous hand painted cachet combine to make this one of the nicest covers you will ever see. A quick sell-out is predictable, so be careful not to miss out. If your hobby budget permits, you might want to consider an extra to put away. Future Collins collectors as well as wildlife topical collectors will always be searching for this one. It promises to be an exciting addition to your Collins holdings.

Lot 15 J2901 — One Dollar High Value — Red Fox — 8/14/98
The Red Fox is the largest of the fox species and is found throughout North America. The individually hand painted cachet shows a mother fox watching over her two kits. Usually, the young foxes will remain with their parents to assist in raising new kits by sharing in the hunting of food. This is an excellent wildlife cachet with a cluster of young oak leaves and a sheltering hemlock behind the two kits. The stamp has the Washington, DC first day of issue bullseye postmark. Way back in 2005, this cover brought $72. A fine Collins wildlife.
