Madam C. J. Walker

This new stamp is in honor of Madam C. J. Walker, who developed and marketed her own line of hair care products. She formed and ran her own business in the early 1900's. As a result, she became one of the wealthiest and most successful woman entrepreneurs of that era.

My hand painted cachet is very colorful and depicts Walker experimenting with her new hair products. The reflected image in the mirror provides a nice touch to the design. The photograph on the stamp was used by Walker in her advertisements and was also displayed on her products.
