The U.S. Postal Services refers to this issue as the "philanthropy" commemorative stamp. It honors and promotes the American tradition of giving and sharing. The design on the stamp is a bee and flower which symbolizes the relationship between a giver and a receiver.

My hand painted cachet depicts the time-honored work of charitable organizations with the metal pot on the street corner. In this case, a young boy learns that sharing with and giving to those less fortunate is an important part of a person's life.
