150th Anniversary of Statehood

The new stamp is based on a scene captured by Madison photographer, Zane Williams. He called it "A quite simple image--red barn, blue sky, and farm fields. It is the essence of Wisconsin." I decided that my hand painted cachet would do well to follow the same guidelines. A simple image with Wisconsin essence. I opted for "The Dairy State."

A proud youngster holds the halter of her prize-winning Guernsey. Nearby on a pallet sits a milk can and fresh cheeses. Two dairy cows stand nearby. A neighboring farm can be seen on the crest of a distant hill. The watercolors chosen coordinate well with the new stamp.
